Have you read “The Mahabharatha?”. Then you will definitely have a question that “why the great warrior Karna’s life is so miserable?”. There is a saying that, “things we do today will reflect somewhere in future”. That is what happened with Karna also. The man of ethics, splendid warrior KARNA is well known for his friendship, loyalty and honesty was cursed so many times, experienced indignity in Mahabharath due to his sonnet.
Before unwrapping the story of his sonnet, let us have a summary of Karna. He was the secret child of Rani Kunthi Devi. Infact his karma started from his birth and went throughout his life gradually. Officially he should be the eldest son of Pandavas, but due to some circumstances he was grown and brought up as the son of Adhiratha(charioteer) and Radha. In his life, he sacrificed his natural armours to Lord Indhra, stood beside the cruel Dhuryodhana valuing his friendship, lost everything for his honesty and hecatomb.
Now, coming to the point, long ago i.e., before the Mahabharath, there was a demon named Dambhodhbava who prayed lord Surya Bhagawan vigourously. Then Lord Surya Bhagawan appeared as granted him a boon of his wish then Dambhodhbava’s list was huge. Firstly, he asked to grant 1000 armours named as “Sahasra Kavacha” and if anyone breaks it they will die immediately. Secondly, anyone who is trying to kill him, they are going to fight with him for 1000 long years. And finally, his death should happen only after the breakage of all the armours. And his wish was granted Lord Surya Bhagawan disappeared. We can have a sense of impossibilities in Dambhodhbava‘s wish list. From then Dambhodhbava became even more stronger and pride filled in every vein. He started troubling the people, saints everywhere. He even shook the IndraLokha. All requested Lord Vishnu to save them from the cruel Dambhodhbava. He created very powerful twins Nara and Narayana together called as “Nara-Narayana”. Now the actual serum of the story starts. They played so smart to kill the monster. Firstly, Nara started penance and Narayana started war with monster for 1000 years and broke one armour and simultaneously Narayana died. Where Nara completed his penance for 1000 years and asked rebirth of Narayana as boon. It was granted and Dambhodhbava left with 999 armours. Now it is Nara’s turn. Nara started war and Narayana started penance. Therefore, Nara broke another armour and died, simultaneously Narayana asked rebirth of Nara as boon. Now Dambhodhbava left with 998 armours. In the similar fashion, they fought with him for so many years, finally Dambhodhbava left with 1 armour. Then he requested Lord Surya Bhagawan to save him. Then Lord assured him that I will save you for this life and says that “in the next life, you will be definitely killed by them”. So, the reincarnation of Dambhodhbava happened as Karna and reincarnation of Nara-Narayana happened as Warrior Arjuna.
So, in the Mahabharatha, the death of Karna was in the hands of prominent warrior Arjuna, one of the Pandavas. Infact, both the Karna and Arjuna were equal in every aspect, but Arjuna was on fair side and Karna was on unfair side. “good always wins”. Eventually, Karna died in Mahabharatha.
When we read the story of great warrior Karna, we can learn so many lessons. Firstly, “bad friendship always hurts”, secondly “karma will always follows” and we should also learn very rare qualities from Karna like honesty, loyalty and patience.
